I am really lucky that most of the women in my life are living a life to uplift others. Women who has another woman’s back. People you can trust not to be shy to praise another woman without feeling threatened.
I had the privileged of talking to quite a few women this past weekend in Yzerfontein and the amazing thing that stood out for me was their boldness. Their boldness in who they are and most of them living their dream life. When I say most of them, I mean that some are standing with one foot in their dream life, and the other in reality working towards making their dream happen.
I realised once again that I, heading towards 51, have a dream that I would love to fulfill, too. How soon, I do not know yet, but it WILL happen.
What do women need?
A lot of woman think that their dreams will only come true if they have a man in their life. As if a man can make her whole again or fill the void. Yes, sometimes it will be great to have a partner, a friend, a companion to build memories with and enjoy life. Someone to go for a walk with … hand in hand! 😉
I have to add … having a man encouraging the woman in his life is an added bonus that can make a woman even stronger, but she can not rely on only that.
It will be really great to have someone likeminded who thinks the same about things that you do. Dream similar dreams that you do. Someone that you can talk to and who understands what makes you tick. But unless you as a woman can not feel whole and complete within yourself, you will never be happy in a relationship.

I’m known for it that for various reasons I don’t feel good enough. I sometimes give people a lot more credit than what they deserve or a lot more power than what they deserve. Who am I to think that I’m not likable? Why am I bothered that others might think that I am not clever, pretty or skinny enough? Make no mistake, I’m not ugly, but I will not win a beauty contest and I would like to think that my “not so pure” heart might be the better part of me.
Not so pure heart, you might ask? I have realised this past few weeks that with some family or friends in your life, you don’t need enemies. Sometimes even I am a bit judgmental. May I never be labeled the enemy of a friend or family member.
What kind of woman do I want to be?
I want to be that woman who uplifts every one in my life. I want to be that person where all you see is my good heart, knowing that I’m not perfect. I want to be that person you go to, because I make a difference in your life.
Who am I to think too little of myself or others, when God thinks we are to die for!!?
